Changing of the Guards

The Next Generation

We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done. That the generation to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they may arise and tell them to their children. That they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments. -Psalm 78:4;6-7

While I was in prayer, I was caught up in a vision. I was in a room, and there were angelic hosts there with me. The King of Kings was present there as well. I was summoned to come closer to the table they were all standing around. They seemed to have been looking over a map, but it didn't exactly seem like a map. In that moment, I was reminded of Ephesians 6:12: "  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. This demonic organization seems to be like a pyramid turned upside down in the vision.

God said, "There is a generation of saints, prophets, apostles, teachers, evangelists, pastors, ministers, elders being raised in this hour." Soon, there will be a changing of the guards, meaning the time will come when the generation after us, Generation Z (13-28), will take the reins in leadership in the church. Though many are still young, this is our future ekklesia. We have been given the responsibility to steward this generation, bring them to salvation, and teach them Kingdom principles. Then God mentioned intercessors and watchmen. Ezekiel 22:30 states, "And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none." He said intercessors and watchmen must hold the line while this generation grows. There must be consistent intercession and prayer for them in this hour.

I could see in the spirit the plans of the enemy advancing against this generation. Satan is trying to kill them and render them incompasitated. He's been destroying them through drunkardness, homosexuality (making them question their identity), generational curses, car accidents, untimely deaths, drug overdose, witchcraft, and homicide. All saints have a role to play in protecting this generation. This generation has been vulnerable to Satan's devices because many don't know and aren't exposed to the Kingdom. God said, "Apostolic governing ministries must take territories for the Kingdom of God," so this generation can grow.  Unfortunately, many saints' focus is not on the future generation. I was shown churches where pastors are ignorant of what's happening to this generation. They're still trying to get their congregations to love each other. Petty arguments and fires they are putting out in the church take their focus off their assignment. It’s all a distraction from our true purpose as the church. Christ said, “Many treat attending church like a hobby. So they can’t get to the next level because they won’t let go of their idols.” He showed me how some large names with a large number of followers on social media sit in judgment of others. They use their platform to expose other saints of God. He said they are convinced and feel justified in their assessment of others. Christ said this is self-aggrandizement (Luke 6:42).

Jesus said, “I did not intend for nation to be against nation and prophet to be against prophet in the Body of Christ.” While we are fighting each other, exposing flaws, dividing ourselves, the enemy has slipped in, and he has launched an attack on our younger generation. It’s all a distraction. God is not done with the current generation of church leaders and five-fold ministers, but He does intend for us to raise the next generation. They must be equipped to prepare to generation under them.
