A deep dissatisfaction settled in my heart. I felt like I was missing the mark in the responsibilities and mandates before me. Inside, two voices battled for my attention — discouraging tones whispering, “When are you going to pull it together?” and the gentle, life‑giving voice of the Holy Spirit saying, “You’ve got this, daughter. Let Me show you how.” It was a war between my flesh and my spirit. I wanted to please God, but inconsistency kept tripping me. I couldn’t seem to create a routine and stick with it. Balancing a demanding career, parenting, running a household, and walking with God felt overwhelming. But the real issue wasn’t the weight of my responsibilities — it was my approach. I was trying to manage life in my own strength, forgetting that as a child of God, He places everything in order when I surrender it to Him. I had to humble myself and admit that apart from Him, I would continue to struggle with inconsistency and failed attempts.
Inconsistency is dangerous in the life of a believer. Scripture calls us to be firm, steadfast, and immovable. When we try to lead even one area of our lives without the Holy Spirit’s guidance, instability creeps in. That instability becomes double‑mindedness — wavering between faith in what God said and doubt that He can do what He said. Double‑mindedness eventually leads to hypocrisy. How can we encourage others when we ourselves are unsure of the Word? We may surrender one area to God but keep another under our own control. The enemy exploits whatever remains unsurrendered, and those unprotected places become vulnerable to attack. Our good name suffers, our confidence weakens, and our hearts risk becoming hardened. I realized that although I told God He could have every part of my life, my actions revealed otherwise. I wasn’t fully submitted, and that truth was painful to face. But with humility and repentance, the Holy Spirit stepped in and began guiding me with grace.
Beloved, God is inviting you into consistency — not through striving, but through surrender. He is calling you to stand firm, to let nothing move you, and to give yourself fully to His work. He wants to steady your thoughts, align your routines, and strengthen your walk. There will be moments when the Holy Spirit gently reminds you to stay under His wing. When life feels overwhelming, He is not asking you to carry it alone. He is asking you to release every area — not just the ones you feel comfortable surrendering.
