Scripture
"But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 2:9
Paul struggled with what he described as a “thorn in his flesh,” and he begged the Lord to take it away. Yet God chose not to remove it. Instead, He spoke the scripture above to Paul. The grace God referred to was not simply favor—it was strength. Many believers today are in a season where action is required, yet they feel weighed down by fear, anxiety, and obstacles that threaten to hold them back. These challenges only have power if believers allow them to. In this season, we must place our full dependence on God’s strength to accomplish what He has called us to do. When Jesus faced the adversary in Matthew 4:4, He declared, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” This reminds us that as we walk through life, we are meant to continually receive direction, wisdom, and guidance from the Lord.
Let’s stop telling the Father things like, “I’m not smart enough for this,” “I don’t have the right connections,” “I don’t know what to do,” or “I don’t have enough education.” None of these are valid reasons to avoid what He has called us to do. God already knows what we cannot accomplish in our own strength. He is not waiting for us to be financially, intellectually, or physically prepared before we move in this season. He is showing us that when we reach the end of our own abilities, that is exactly where we discover His power to do what He has assigned to us. Be honest with Him—acknowledge your weaknesses—but also bring a heart that is willing and flexible. Bring a heart ready to obey, fully relying on His strength rather than your own.
By His grace, Beloved, you can and you will. God’s power shines brightest when we are at our weakest. The journey may feel challenging, but we can walk in courage and contentment knowing that His strength will produce everything needed for us to live in obedience. His grace is the divine ability to carry out what He has called us to do, even when we cannot see the next step ahead. Be encouraged today, Beloved. You are fully capable of fulfilling your calling—not because of your own strength, but because you are relying on His.
Prayer
