A God That Cares

Scripture

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." - Jeremiah 29:13

Our God is relational. It's not just about our obedience to Him, but about our heart for Him. He desires to be sought out by those He loves. He is not hidden to those who genuinely seek Him. Beloved, once you find Him, you will find that He is not a God that is far off, but He is a God who's been next to you your entire life. You will find that He wants a relationship with you. You will find a God who cares. Get to know the heart of God. He is so worth it! Let us know not recognize Him as the God of blessings only. Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, then these things will be added." Jesus was admonishing the people to see the Father's heart, which encompasses His will, values, and righteousness above anything else.

I believe it is a tragedy for someone to live the majority of their life as a believer, and never truly know the heart of God. At best, some believers may only experience one maybe two aspects of His nature when they've got access to all of Him. So, what does it mean to understand the heart of God? It means understanding that He is relational. He desires to be intimately connected to His children. It means trusting that He is actively involved in our lives. It means understanding that His heart is full of mercy. He's so loving and gracious towards us. His heart is not characterized by condemnation for those who follow Him, but by grace. It means understanding that He experiences emotions. God is  sensitive. He's pleased by our obedience, when we repent, and when we love others. Finally, understand that God has a plan and purpose for our lives, and He is working His plan through our lives everyday.

Beloved, getting to know the heart of the Father is not a casual effort. It is the reward of those who have earnestly sought Him out. He is a rewarder of those who will diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) God responds to a sincere, undivided dedication, not a half-hearted attempt. Our Father desires to be known by His children. He wants us to move past superficial faith into an intimate relationship. To truly know God’s heart, let us move beyond head knowledge and yield yourself to experience Him. He is the God who cares.

Prayer

Father, thank you for being the God who cares. We desire to understand your heart and get to know your very nature. We prioritize the experience of knowing you over knowledge about you. In Jesus' name. Amen
