Scripture
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" -Isaiah 6:8
The Father is looking for hearts that are willing to serve as an instrument to accomplish His purposes and will on the earth. He wants to work through someone to reveal His love to others. Will you be the one? Though He's given each of us gifts and talents, these don't qualify us to be used by Him. The humble servant's heart is what He's looking for. He's looking for ordinary people who are willing to surrender time, resources, and will to His purposes. Beloved, are you willing to be a vessel for Him?
God looks for the right heart that is open and eager to obey. He wants those who will make themselves available to serve Him. He is looking for hearts who are not trying to make a name for themselves and build a platform in His name. Remember, Peter said, "Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, and in His own good time, He will lift you up." (I Peter 5:6). This requires a daily surrender on our part. It's a daily, conscious choice to be available in everyday situations-work, school, or in your encounters with people.
The posture of our hearts matters to the Lord when it comes to serving. Your willingness to serve Him doesn't just affect those around you, but it affects you. It starts with your availability to Him, but even in the most mundane circumstances, you, too, are being transformed, and your character is being developed. This happens when we admit that we're totally dependent upon Him. This makes us even more qualified servants. So, Beloved, when God asks, "Who shall I send?" Tell Him, "Here am I, Lord. Send me!"
Prayer
