Not Without A Fight

Scripture

This charge I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies previously made about you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made a shipwreck of their faith. -I Timothy 1:18-19

There are times when we receive a prophetic word from the Lord, we enter a period of warfare. This is because there are spiritual forces that work to ensure that the word is not fulfilled in your life. They come to block, delay, or destroy the manifestation of the promise by attacking your mind, your faith, and your circumstances. Demonic forces work to create a reality that looks totally opposite to the Word of God spoken over your life. In many cases, this is just a smoke screen and we must not receive it.

Why is there a fight, though? The enemy desires to prevent the fulfillment of the Word. If we are not discerning, he will steal the word before it is rooted and produces fruit in your life. We must not be unaware of enemy's schemes and tactics. The attacks come to distract you from the truth of the word spoken over you. They are designed to cause doubt, fear, and confusion. Ultimately, the enemy wants you to question if God really spoke over you. Remember the adversary does not want the Word of God to be fulfilled upon the earth. The word is fulfilled through the children of God, and therefore, he will attack our faith to hinder God's purpose. Take heart Beloved and trust that when we experience intense warfare after a promise has been given, it is often an indication that the promise is significant and that you're making a difference in God's kingdom.

So, how do we wage good warfare?  We wage good warfare with the word. We are to pray through , decree and declare the word. This is not a time to be passive! We are to stand in faith and patiently wait on the word to be manifested. Remember, David waited about two decades before He became king over Israel. Steward the word that God has given you by submitting to the Holy Spirit and becoming a co-laborer. Finally, use the spiritual tools at your disposal. During this time, we should be praying, fasting, and studying and applying scripture to our lives. We use these tools to stand firm against any demonic oppression that comes our way. Beloved, God's promises over our lives are sure, but often not without a fight from the kingdom of darkness. Don't sit passively on the sidelines, and endure. Fight, the good fight of faith!

Prayer

Father, thank you for the promise! We co-labor with your Spirit to fight against the adversary who seeks to hinder your purpose in the earth. With your wisdom and strength, we wage good warfare so that your word will be fulfilled. In Jesus' name. Amen
