Tough Decisions

Scripture

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. -Psalm 32:8

One of the many spiritual blessings of being a part of the family of God is divine guidance. God promised Joshua that He'd never leave or forsake him, and that promise applies to us as believers today. (Joshua 1:5;9). Often we are faced with making major decisions that can affect our current quality of life or our future. The good news is that we don't have to fret because we're admonished not to be anxious for anything. Because we have the assurance that He will instruct us,  can we hand the decision to Him. Remember, God wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives. Just as we seek counsel from our natural parents, we have a spiritual parent who desires to be consulted on the matters of our lives. He offers wisdom for our  decisions, and He will watch over us with care as we choose the right path to take. 

Whatever your decisions are today, Beloved, know that God is there to counsel and guide you through the process. He will act as a teacher to guide you on the best path for your life. The scripture above promises that He will guide us with His loving eye is an implication of an the intimate relationship we have Him. This is similar to a parent watching over a child learning how to walk for the first time. The child stands on the floor, all obstacles are removed, and the parent sets the toddler in the right direction. God provides real-time, subtle direction down the right pathway. 

This kind of promise requires trust in the Lord. Life can become difficult, but we are encouraged to submit daily to our relationship with Him to seek His direction, rather than make our plans independently. We are called to God's wisdom over our human intuition especially when we have to navigate through difficult decisions. Just as we pay attention to the GPS to get to our destination, we must pay attention to God's guidance through the uncertainties of life. 

Prayer

Father, we put our trust in you. We submit to your counsel and teaching to guide on the right path to take. Thank you for divine wisdom. In Jesus' name. Amen
