"For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish". -Jeremiah 31:25
There are times on this Christian journey when we may experience spiritual exhaustion. There are internal and external struggles that bring us to our knees. We can be left feeling emotionally drained and disconnected from our faith. We may feel like our spiritual reserves are depleted. However, God promises to completely satisfy our weary souls, and provide deep, lasting renewal, peace, and fulfillment for the soul.
We live in a world with endless responsibilities and distractions that can cause us to lose our passion and our zeal. However, God promises to satisfy us by fulfilling our spiritual and emotional needs. Where the enemy sought to highlight our sorrow and grief, the Lord will replenish our joy and peace. Take heart, Beloved, the Lord will never leave us in the state of spiritual exhaustion. His purpose is to bring healing and restoration. We will find rest for our souls in His presence.
If you find yourself feeling spiritually exhausted, God is inviting you to rest in Him today. Jesus invited the weary and heavy burden to come to Him so they could find rest. (Matthew 11:28-30). You will find renewed strength when you lay your burdens down and come to Him. Isaiah 40: 29 says that He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. In His lovingkindness, God will meet you right where you are in your weakness. He doesn't judge, He loves. Finally, He will shower you with His grace. His grace will enable us to continue on this journey, and replenish and refresh us when find ourselves in moments of weariness again. Beloved, admit your exhaustion to Him, and turn to Him in prayer. Steward previous moments of restoration to overcome discouragement. Allow His love and peace to refresh you.
Prayer
Father, thank you for restoring and replenishing our souls. We admit our exhaustion to you and ask for a refreshing in our spirits. In Jesus' name. Amen
