Total Reliance

Scripture

For all who are led by God are the sons of God. -Romans 8:14

The Holy Spirit is not shrouded in mystery. Upon salvation, He came to live in every believer. He can be the guide, teacher, commentator, and friend. His presence has been with you since the moment of your birth guiding you into salvation, and He'll be with you when you take your last breath. Unfortunately, some believers don't realize  who they have access to. They're satisfied with merely reading about Him in scripture and will settle for hearing a Christian conversation about Him. There is no true experiential knowledge of Him because they've not initiated a relationship with Him. Do you know who He is? He's the Spirit of God, the third person of the Trinity. He's fully God and He expresses God's active presence, personality, and power in the world within us, helping and interceding as a distinct, divine person.

God did not send His Spirit just so we can hear about Him. He was sent to live life with us, and guide us through every moment. We must get to know Him and build a relationship with Him. We weren't meant to live life shouldering every challenge on our own. It is suggested in the scripture that we should be led by God. We are led by His Spirit. Start by praying and inviting Him into a relationship. Beloved, know that from that prayer, He will make Himself known to you. It may be the subtle promptings from deep within. It may be the peace about a situation that you know you didn't have before. It's the comfort when life becomes overwhelming. It's the deep feeling that something is right. It's what your spirit has been waiting for all along.

Like your natural relationships, your relationship with Him evolves. The more you spiritually mature, the deeper your relationship goes with Him. You'll begin to understand that submission and total reliance on Him is vital for you to live out God's purpose for your life. You'll then see Him as a friend, and your desire to get to know Him as a person will grow.  You'll learn to seek His counsel about everything. He'll give you the words to say, the direction to go, and the instructions to do. You'll have confidence in knowing that you live in heavenly places with Christ, and it is the Spirit of God who teaches you how to operate the affairs of daily life and ministry from that place. You'll find comfort in knowing that He knows the mind of God (1 Co. 2:10-11) concerning you, and when you ask for guidance, He will reveal God's will for your situation. Beloved, every moment is in His hands. When you rely on Him fully, you will experience a deeper level of peace, clarity, and spiritual strength.

Prayer

Father, we thank you for your Holy Spirit who leads us into all truths. We endeavor to know Him, and we submit to Him as He leads us into our purpose. In Jesus' name.
