I'm Tired, Lord

Scripture

"My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness." -2 Corinthians 12:9

There was a time when I declared that my life was in God's hand, but what I said and my actions never quite aligned. No matter what the situation was, my first instinct was to take care of all on my own. The end result left me mentally and emotionally exhausted, crying out, "I'm tired, Lord." Truthfully, things only truly worked out when I prayed for God to intervene. Beloved, what are you shouldering on your own? What problems have you been trying to tackle without God's assistance? What I noticed is that when I acknowledge that I cannot carry the weight alone, I discover the One who carries me.

I learned to invite the Lord into all of my situations. Jesus said, "Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28). It was only when I came to Him in prayer and invited Him into my affairs that His favor showed up. I experienced strength to endure what I was facing, and my faith in His power in my life increased. When we acknowledge that we cannot carry the weight alone, we discover the One who carries us. . When we learn to embrace our limitations and lean on God, that's when He does His best work. My actions revealed that I had not fully put my trust in Him. Beloved, our limitations become opportunities for His power to work in our lives.

So, instead of depleting your emotional and mental energy through your independence of God, embrace limitation, and go to Him in prayer. He will give you what you need to cope with challenges. Remember, it's in our weaknesses that His strength is made perfect. Our imperfections and struggles aren't barriers to God, but are areas where His divine strength is being revealed. When we stop striving to fix everything on our own, we finally make room for God to move.  Be encouraged today, our dependency is on Him alone.

Prayer

Father, we put our faith in you and you only. We turn away from self-reliance and praise you that your strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. In Jesus' name. Amen
