Scripture
Arise and shake off your dust! Sit enthroned, Jerusalem! Break off your shackles of bondage from your neck, you captive daughter of Zion! -Isaiah 52:2
The scripture above is a call to God's people (Israel) through the Prophet Isaiah to rise from humiliation, despair, and captivity to a state of restoration and dignity. As humans, we often fail, make mistakes, and make bad decisions. They can leave us feeling unworthy, unable to fulfill God's purpose, and ultimately lead us to a place of stagnation. Voices of the past surround us, and fear of failure incapacitates us. Let me remind you, Beloved, that you can start again. God never intended for His people to stay in captivity forever. Arise and shake off your dust! Shake off mistakes from yesterday. God's lovingkindness is endless. His Spirit will always encourage you to get back up again.
"A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again....." (Proverbs 24:16). Ok, so you fell short. The word declares that we've all done it, but God is saying now is the time to arise and brush the dust off. Come back to that blessed place in Him. "Remember from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first." (Revelation 2:5). Jesus was telling the church in Ephesus to return to their initial, fervent love for God. Own the past, repent, and keep going. Beloved, don't allow the mistakes of the past to hinder your journey any further. Press start again!
This is a call to spiritual renewal, freedom, and a return to your exalted status in Him. Remember, we are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Not only do we sit in this place, but we also live, think, and operate from this place as well. Reclaim your position of authority in Jesus Christ. You are a child of the Most High God! This means that the weapon may have formed, but it did not prosper. You have fallen, but you are admonished to rise again. Beloved, start again.
Prayer,
Father, thank you for the courage to start again. We praise you for your lovingkindness towards us. We no longer live as those with no hope, but we walk in authority in Christ Jesus. Amen.
