Magnify Him

Scripture

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. -Psalm 34:3

Many of us have used a magnifying glass to make an image or object larger. A magnifying glass effectively brings the object closer to your eye than your natural near point, allowing you to see details that would otherwise be blurry. In the same way, this is what we do when we magnify God. We make His greatness and importance seem as large as they truly are. Believers have a habit of magnifying situations, problems, and trials when we should be magnifying God above everything else. It's about our perspective, Beloved. We are to shift our perspective to see our situations as small in comparison to our God, exalting His name. His goodness must be exalted above all things.

So, how do we magnify God? First, it starts with how we live our lives. We can't declare out of our mouths that God is magnified and live a defeated life. Therefore, we live lives that reflect His character. We stay in consistent prayer and praise. We magnify Him by focusing on His goodness, power, and faithfulness by speaking about it with other saints. We lift Him above the circumstances in our lives. We magnify Him by intentionally prioritizing His will and surrendering to Him. We live lives that make Him known. Our meditation on the scripture, such as the one above and others that speak victory and life over your situations, is another way that God is magnified.

Beloved, do you notice that magnifying the Lord requires our action? It's not just about what we say, it's about how we live in relation to the truth of who He truly is. If He is sovereign, then we live like He is sovereign. If He is great, then we live like He is great. God is exalted and magnified through our lives.  We use our faith like a magnifying glass to see God's vastness, making Him the central focus in our lives, especially during difficulties, by proclaiming His worth and power. Beloved, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together!

Prayer

Father, we magnify your holy name! We exalt you above our situations and will tell the world of your goodness! In Jesus' name. Amen
