"For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield" -Psalm 5:12
The Lord desires to bestow favor upon His children, but what is divine favor? Favor is God's divine approval, unmerited grace, protection, promotion, and open doors. When divine favor is upon a believer's life, it's an expression of God's deep love and kindness. It's a supernatural advantage given to those to achieve His purposes. According to the scripture, favor is given to those who are righteous. Righteousness means that a believer lives in accordance with God's ways, principles, and commands. Such a person is surrounded by His favor.
His divine favor is not based on our human merit or works, but on His grace and love. The scripture is a declaration of God's protection that covers us in all circumstances. Because we choose to walk righteously, His favor acts as a shield in our lives. It's a powerful barrier, protecting us from Satan's devices and the pressures of life. This is why we can have peace that surpasses all understanding that guards our hearts and our minds. (Philippians 4:7). His favor comes in the form of blessings, but blessings beyond having wealth. He gives us spiritual blessings such as peace, joy, and most importantly, His presence.
Beloved, the goodness that His favor brings is proof of His unending love for you. Out of our deep relationship with Him flows love and adoration for Him. Because of this relationship, we choose to live righteously. His response to our devotion is His divine favor, which brings protection, strength, joy, security, and His abiding presence.
Prayer
Father, thank you for surrounding us with your abundant favor, protection, and blessings like a shield against life's troubles. We thank you for your divine grace and spiritual prosperity in our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen
