Healing for Your Soul

Scripture

"He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds," -Psalm 147:3

We live in a world full of broken souls. You don't have to look far to see groups of people being marginalized. You can turn on the radio and hear reports of a crisis in the land. You will even find someone soliciting prayers on social media. It can become overwhelming when you look up from your situation and notice all the emotional and physical distress that people are experiencing. However, the Bible encourages us to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). We don't have to live as people without hope. Our God is near, and He knows exactly what we are facing. In fact, He saw what we'd face before the foundation of the world. Therefore, He knows when and how we'll get through it. Scripture promises that God heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. Whatever emotional hurt you're carrying today, Beloved, you can cast your care upon Him. Surrender your wounds to Him so that He can heal you.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses....(Hebrews 4:15). He knows, Beloved. As children of the Most High God, we have hope. We have access to His comfort, strength, and love. For those who feel alone, remember that Jesus said, "I will never leave you comfortless, I will come to you." (John 14:18). He also said that He would never leave us nor would He ever forsake us. I am aware that some of us carry deep emotional pain, but if you would give it over to Him, He will apply His healing balm to every wound you have. One of the benefits of being in the family of God is that you have access to healing. Not just for your physical body, but there's healing for your soul.

Beloved, there's a comforter who knows, and He wants to bandage all your wounds. Whatever your burdens, know that if you let Him, He will lift them.  Release them to Him, so that He can give you His peace. Trade the spirit of heaviness for the garment of praise (Isaiah 61:3) today.

Prayer

Father, we cast our cares upon you today. Please heal all of our wounds and take away our burdens. We take comfort in your presence today in Jesus' name.  Amen.
