Scripture

"I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together". -Psalm 34:1-3

True praise is expressed through all aspects of a believer's life. It is more than the few minutes experienced in church services on Sunday mornings. As a child of God and a kingdom citizen, praises should be continuous. It's a constant part of your life regardless of the situation, whether difficult or joyful. This means that praising God is an active choice. We praise Him because of His goodness, out of gratitude for His love that He unselfishly gives to us. As you mature as a believer, praise becomes a default. You don't praise Him with just your lips, but with your lifestyle and your actions.

The verse says, "His praise will always be on my lips." (v1). Praise Him with your speech that is focused on Him. We  consistently express our gratitude and reverence, by acknowledging His power with our speech. We speak about God's goodness, faithfulness, and kindness with others. We express to Him how wonderful He is. Living a lifestyle of praise is expressed through righteous living. Living righteously simply means living in alignment with the Word of God. You willfully choose to do what is right even when it is not popular.  Confessing your sins before the Lord is also considered a form praise. Because He's so good, everything you do, you do it unto Him. All of your actions and encounters should be handled with His faithfulness in mind. Live unto the glory of God, Beloved.

We praise Him because of His worthiness; because He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We praise Him because of His blessings. He's redeemed us from sin through the gift of salvation. We praise Him because He's delivered us out of the hands of our enemies. These are a few reasons to praise Him, but I'm sure if you begin to think about all that He's done for you, the list of reasons to praise Him becomes endless. Beloved, when we praise Him like this, our focus shifts from our problems to resting in His promises. This is how we know He is exalted above all in our lives.

Prayer

Father, we praise you! Ten thousands tongues will never be enough. We reverence you, Holy King. Amen.
