Partner With Him

Scripture

For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building. -1 Corinthians 3:9

There comes a point of maturity where we begin to partner with God to fulfill His plan for humanity. We cease looking at the blessings we can receive or continuously lament over the trials we face because we have the assurance that we have access to God's resources and provision. We come to understand God's nature and character through the scriptures and our daily encounter with His love. We've walked with Him long enough to know that each day is about bringing glory to His name through our lives and that seeking His kingdom is our priority. Now, we partner with Him. We participate with Him to do the work He has created us to do.

At this level of our walk as disciples, we are fulfilling God's given destiny with tasks ranging from large-scale ministry to small acts of compassion, such as hugging a friend or cooking a meal for a neighbor. At this level, we are yielded to the point of being God's hands and feet, bringing hope and light to the world around us. Beloved, we abandon self-serving thought patterns, behaviors, and dispositions, and put our focus fully on God. We're so yielded that whatever His desires are, they are our desires. What hurts Him, hurts us. What pleases Him pleases us. We walk in union with Him to fulfill His purposes on the earth.

Isaiah said, "Here am I, send me!" (Isaiah 6:8). He was willing to answer God's call with faith and courage. There's a point of maturity where that phrase is the heart's cry for the believer. It's where we're willing to go wherever He sends us. The level that I've been describing is a place of complete trust in Him. It's where we see Him fully without our preconceived notions and worldly influence. We see Him, and what we see and experience is so intoxicating that our earnest desire is to please Him. So, whatever He says is well with us.

Prayer

Father, we yield our lives to work in your vineyard. We'll be the field that you work in to build your kingdom. We pray for your continual guidance to fulfill the work you set before us. In Jesus' name. Amen
