Listen, O my people, to my instruction; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old. We will not conceal them from their children, but tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wondrous works that He has done. That they should put their confidence in God and not forget the works of God, but keep His commands. - Psalm 78:1-2;4;7
Beloved, our God has revealed His power and faithfulness throughout generations. He led the Israelites out of Egypt and parted the Red Sea. He brought down the walls of Jericho and ushered His people into their promised land. He protected them with angelic armies and chariots of fire against the Arameans. He fed them with manna from heaven and guided them with fire by night and a cloud by day. He sustained Elijah with ravens, preserved Daniel in the lions’ den, healed the lepers, and delivered the demon‑possessed. Scripture overflows with God’s miraculous works—signs, wonders, and divine interventions that testify to His unmatched power. And yet, when our own situations seem slow to resolve, we can still find ourselves tempted to doubt Him. But these reminders stand as anchors for our faith: the God who moved then is the same God who moves now.
Reflection Pause: Where is God inviting you to trust His power in the situation that feels uncertain today?
How quickly our hearts can forget the mighty works God has already done for us. The adversary works tirelessly to cloud our memory with present hardships because he wants us distracted, discouraged, and silent—unable to influence others with the testimonies God has written into our lives. Yet Scripture continually calls us to remember God’s commandments and testimonies, just as the book of Deuteronomy admonishes. We must never lose our awe of Him. Awe keeps our faith alive. Awe keeps our worship sincere. Awe keeps our trust anchored even when we don’t understand what God is doing. You may not grasp every detail of your Christian walk, but you can rest in knowing you are firmly planted in His hand, held securely by the One whose ways are beyond our comprehension. Worship flows easily from a heart in awe. Gratitude rises naturally. Trust becomes steady—even when clarity is not. Never assume you’ve reached the end of knowing God; such thinking limits Him, because our understanding is finite while His power is limitless. Truly, nothing is impossible with God.
Reflection Pause: Where is God inviting you to hold His past faithfulness before your eyes so your awe—and your trust—can grow?
Beloved, His nature is revealed through His signs, wonders, and miracles—each one a testimony of His power and faithfulness. These testimonies are meant to sustain you through every trial, reminding you that the God who moved before is still moving now. Keep your eyes fixed on what God is doing and what He has already done, not on what you feel He hasn’t done yet. If He has done it before, He is more than able to do it again. And as you hold His works before you, your life will naturally influence those around you to follow Him, because His faithfulness shines through you.
Prayer Moment
Lord, we'll keep your works before us. We'll testify to your signs and wonders to our children. We'll increase our faith in you and influence those around us. Amen
