Because Of Our Love For God

Scripture

"Love the Lord your God and keep his requirements, decrees, laws, and commands always". - Deuteronomy 11:1

Beloved, love is the lifeblood of the Kingdom of God. Scripture continually calls us to walk in love, because love is not just a virtue—it is the very nature of Jesus Christ, and the foundation of every other quality He embodies. Above all, we are called to love our God. Loving Him is a choice we offer freely, a devotion that rises from the heart. We can give God many things, but if we withhold our love, we have given Him nothing—for God is love, and love is what He treasures most from His children.

Reflection Pause: Where is God inviting you to deepen your expression of love toward Him today?

Beloved, because we love God, we are able to walk in obedience to Him. Genuine love stirs a deep desire within us to please the Father, to honor Him with our choices, and to reflect His heart in the way we live. Scripture tells us, “If you love Me, keep My commands,” reminding us that obedience is not merely duty—it is the overflow of devotion. Love and obedience are beautifully intertwined in the life of a believer. To Christ, real love is expressed through a life that willingly aligns itself with His Word. As our love for Him grows, so does our longing to walk in His ways, allowing His truth to shape our steps and His Spirit to strengthen our resolve.

Reflection Pause: Where is God inviting you to let your love for Him shape your obedience today?

Beloved, let us pause and truly examine our hearts before the Lord. Do we love Him—not merely in word, but in the way our lives reflect His truth? If we say we love the Father, then our obedience becomes the evidence of that love. Obedience is not a burden but a beautiful fruit that grows from a heart devoted to Him. And yet, if we’re honest, there may be places in our lives where obedience has been lacking, where our actions have not aligned with our confession. These moments don’t condemn us—they invite us deeper. They reveal where God is gently calling us to surrender, to trust, and to love Him with greater wholeness. As we acknowledge these areas, His grace meets us, shaping us into the likeness of Christ and drawing us into a more faithful walk with Him.

Journal Reflection: Write about the areas of your life where God is inviting you into deeper obedience as an expression of your love for Him.

 Prayer Moment

Father, because we love You, our desire is to please You. Strengthen us with Your guidance and grace so we may discern Your will and walk faithfully in Your commands, laws, and decrees. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Obedience is a fruit that is produced as a result of love for the Father. Amen
