So then, beloved ones, the flesh has no claims on us at all, and we have no further obligation to live in obedience to it. -Romans 8:12

Beloved, as followers of Christ, we are called to pursue Him with our whole hearts. We come to know Him through the scriptures—where His message, His mission, and His heart are revealed. In the Gospels, we encounter His compassion, His authority, and His purpose. In the Epistles, we discover His nature and our true position in the Kingdom. When we allow the Word to do what it was divinely designed to do—to teach, rebuke, correct, train in righteousness, and equip us for every good work—we begin to see who we truly are in Him. Through Scripture, God unveils His purpose for our lives and shows us how to walk in a way that fulfills that purpose. The Word becomes our guide, our anchor, and our shaping force, forming Christ within us day by day.

Reflection Pause: Where is God inviting you to let His Word shape your understanding of who you are in His Kingdom?

Beloved, discovering our purpose ushers us into a place of divine transformation. Paul declared that he was pressing toward the high calling in Philippians 3:14—continually moving toward spiritual growth, maturity, and deeper conformity to Christ. His life was marked by a holy determination to be shaped into the image of Jesus. As we submit ourselves to the Word of God and allow it to transform us, something beautiful happens: the power of the flesh begins to weaken. The more we reflect Christ’s nature, the less influence our old nature holds. We begin to realize that the flesh has no true claim on us, for we are being renewed, reshaped, and anchored in the life of Christ Himself.

Reflection Pause: Where is God inviting you to let His purpose transform you more deeply into the image of Christ?

Beloved, when this truth settles into your spirit, a holy confidence begins to rise—you are not obligated to obey the flesh. Your spirit has always agreed with this reality, but as you have sought Christ, your soul has been steadily transformed. And when the soul is transformed, the body follows. Your decisions shift. Old indulgences lose their appeal. Former thought patterns fall away. You begin to actively pursue righteousness and holiness because your identity is being reshaped by the life of Christ within you. You let go of who you used to be and embrace who God created you to be. The flesh no longer defines you, directs you, or claims you. You are being transformed—day by day—into the image of Christ. Beloved, be reminded today: you are no longer bound to your old nature. Know who you are in Him.

Father, we desire to be formed into the image of Christ so that we can walk in your purpose for our lives. Amen.
