Scripture(s)

Joshua, no one will be able to defeat you for the rest of your life! I will be with you as I was with Moses, and I will never fail nor abandon you. You must be strong and brave. -Joshua 1:5

"Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand." -Matthew 4:17

As the Kingdom of God is enlightened in me, so is my perspective of everything in my life. Words such as irreversible, irrevocable, unalterable, unchangeable, and permanent come to mind. These words describe my new posture towards the Kingdom. Because the Kingdom of God is alive within me, my perspective of life and whatever it brings is now the Kingdom's perspective. My speech,  approach, and  thoughts have all been shifted toward the Kingdom of God.

What does this mean?  This means that God fully rules and reigns in my life. His laws, nature, and precepts are what I accept, take on, and apply to my life. Paul said in Galatians 2:20 that his old identity was crucified with Christ, and he and Christ lived in union as one. His new life was empowered by the faith of the Son of God. As Paul lived as one with Christ, so do I. This means that because Jesus is a conqueror, so am I. Jesus overcame, so I overcome. Every situation that He faced, He approached it from a Kingdom perspective. This is why miracles broke out when He was around. There is no sickness, bondage, lack, poverty, strife, ignorance, or division in the Kingdom. Everything had to shift to the Kingdom reality when Jesus stepped into the situation.  God told Joshua that no one would defeat him for the rest of his life. I will no longer be defeated in my life because there is no defeat in the Kingdom of God. The weapons may form, the distractions may come, the trials may persist, but because of the faith of Jesus Christ, I am victorious. I am empowered by His faith to overcome the distractions, trials, and weapons.

So, whatever comes my way, the Kingdom of God is at hand. I already have the assurance that God will not fail nor abandon me. This assurance causes me to be strong and brave in the face of the giants. I walk in courageous faith. Beloved, know that the Kingdom of God is at hand. We need only to yield to God and allow Him to reign in our lives. He'll take it from there. We can rest in Him, knowing that we live in Kingdom reality.

Prayer

Father, thank you for your Kingdom. We submit fully to your reign and rule in our lives. We throw off our old identity and live in our new reality as Kingdom citizens. Please help us stay steadfast as we live each day in victory. In Jesus' name. Amen
