Scripture
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. -Proverbs 3:5-6
I've been seeking the Kingdom of God through prayers of supplication. At first, I was praying for God to meet the need and work out the situation I desperately needed worked out. I heard a quiet voice in my prayers, "Will of God." This was a quiet reminder to consult God on His will for my situation. I could have continued in desperate supplication, asking God for the things I desired. I don't believe it's wrong to ask God for the things you want in a given situation, but I also believe it is far better to ask Him what His will is for the situation.
We could need some sort of provision or want a situation to work out, but let us never forget to find out what God's will is for what we're facing. This kind of trust involves surrendering our understanding, which is limited, and seeking His guidance. We usually only see things from a limited perspective, but the Father has an aeriel view. Not only that, He knows what the best outcome for us is.
Beloved, whatever you are asking for today, remember to surrender your understanding and seek His guidance as well. As you trust Him completely, He will lead you on the right path. Let's allow Him to order our steps in any given situation, and let's not lean on our understanding because it is limited to what we can see. Ask Him, "Father, what is your will in this situation in my life?"
Prayer
Father, we trust you completely. We surrender our limited understanding of the circumstances in our lives, and we seek your will and guidance. We seek your infinite wisdom for our lives. We desire to walk only in the path you have laid out for us. Amen
