Strength That Comes From Glory

Scripture

We pray that you'll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul - not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is a strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy.” -Colossians 1:11

The longer I walk with Jesus, the more I realize how often I've mistaken endurance for strength. There have been seasons when I smiled on the outside while carrying a heavy weight on the inside. Seasons when I kept moving forward simply because there was no other choice. Maybe you've been there too. Life has a way of bringing us face to face with situations we never would have chosen for ourselves. The loss, the waiting, the uncertainty, the heartbreak. We tell ourselves to be strong, to hold it together, to keep pressing forward. Yet beneath the surface, our souls can grow weary from carrying burdens that were never ours to carry alone.

Beloved, God never asked you to survive life through sheer determination. His heart for you is far more tender than that. The strength Paul describes is not the exhausting effort of trying to hold yourself together. It is a strength that comes from the very heart of God. It is His glorious power sustaining you when your own strength runs out. It is His peace settling over you when anxiety threatens to overwhelm you. It is His presence whispering, "I'm still here," when the road feels long and lonely. The Lord sees every tear you've cried, every prayer you've repeated, and every burden you've silently carried. He is not disappointed by your weakness. He is inviting you to discover His strength within it.

So today, stop measuring yourself by how much longer you can hold on. Instead, lean into the One who is holding you. Bring Him the weariness you've been hiding, the fears you've been carrying, and the questions you've been trying to answer on your own. Let His peace quiet your heart and His strength steady your steps. The trial may not disappear overnight, but neither will His presence. As you place your trust in Him, you'll discover that your circumstances no longer determine your joy. His strength becomes your strength, His peace becomes your covering, and His faithfulness becomes the story you stand on.

Reflection Pause: Where have you been trying to "hold it all together" instead of allowing God to hold you? What burden have you been carrying that the Lord is gently asking you to place in His hands today?

Prayer Moment

Father, thank You that I don't have to rely on my own strength. When I am weary, remind me that Your power is made perfect in weakness. Teach me to trust You with the burdens I've been carrying and to rest in Your peace. Strengthen me with Your glorious might and fill my heart with joy that rises above my circumstances. In Jesus' name, Amen.
