Growing Into the Life God Envisioned

Scripture

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.” — Luke 2:52

One thing the Lord has made abundantly clear in my walk with Him is that my growth and development matter deeply to His heart. Not just my spiritual growth—but my growth as a whole person. Religion often paints a picture of a God concerned only with our spiritual performance, but relationship reveals a Father who cares about our maturity, our character, our wisdom, and even our personal success.Beloved, have you ever paused long enough to ask God what His thoughts are about your development as a person? As I’ve walked with Him, He has shown me that becoming who He created me to be is a process—one He is intimately involved in.

Jesus Himself grew. Though He knew who He was and who He was destined to become, He never stepped ahead of His appointed time. Scripture shows Him living a normal human life—fulfilling family responsibilities, walking in faithfulness, proving Himself trustworthy in small things long before His public ministry began. In the same way, the person God has predestined you to become is developed in you. Revelation alone does not produce maturity. Growth requires formation. And formation requires relationship. The Holy Spirit guides us, teaches us, and reveals what we need to know at the right time. Jesus grew in His relationship with His Father, and He grew in His relationships with people. Whether your calling is ministry or marketplace, destiny can tempt you to run ahead of God. But growth is never rushed. Favor with God and favor with people are both cultivated through wisdom, consistency, and proven character. Many believers try to operate in spaces they have not yet been developed or commissioned for. Beloved, growth is a process—and wisdom, stature, and favor come as we submit to that process.

You are invited into a journey of becoming—becoming wise, becoming mature, becoming trustworthy, becoming who God envisioned before the foundation of the world. The Holy Spirit is committed to shaping you, guiding you, and preparing you for every place God intends to send you. The question is simple: Are you willing to submit to the process? Growth is not accidental. It is intentional, relational, and deeply transformative. As you walk with God, He will develop you into the person who can carry the destiny He has revealed. Lean into His shaping. Trust His timing. Grow with Him.

Reflection Pause: Consider the areas where He may be developing your character, your wisdom, or your relationships.  Where is God inviting you to grow—not just spiritually, but personally? Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what part of the process He is shaping in you right now.

Prayer Moment

Father, shape me into the person You envisioned before time began. Help me grow in wisdom, stature, and favor as I walk with You.

This is another right on time word. Thank you for sharing this. It gives me questions to ponder on and things to ask God in prayer. ❤️
