Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will not be put to shame. -Isaiah 50:7
She mounted her bicycle with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. Her training wheels had just been removed, and her father hovered close enough to catch her if she fell. With the quiet confidence that her dad was right there, she began to pedal. Ten feet in, the wobbling started. Her balance slipped. She fell hard. But when she looked up, she saw her father already reaching for her, lifting her gently, encouraging her to try again. Because she knew he would be there every time she fell, she got back on the bike. And eventually, she learned to ride with confidence — not because she never fell, but because she trusted who was beside her.
This is the confidence Isaiah speaks of: “Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced… I have set my face like a stone.” Jesus Himself embodied this resolve. He knew agony awaited Him, yet He moved forward with unwavering determination because He trusted His Father’s help. We face our own trials — some expected, others blindsiding. Whether finishing a degree, navigating a marriage, launching a business, enduring a difficult leader, or stepping into a new assignment, we are called to set our faces like flint. Flint is not fragile; it is firm, unshakeable, and steady. Confidence in God produces courage, and courage produces obedience. If Jesus is victorious, so are we. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This truth applies to us because it first applied to Him.
Beloved, the Father is inviting you to walk with this same resolve and confidence. He is strengthening your face like flint in the areas where you feel wobbly, weary, or tempted to quit. You are not walking alone. His help is not distant — it is present, active, and near. Set your face toward the assignment He has given you. Lean into His strength when your balance falters. Trust His hand when you fall. He will not let you be disgraced. He will not leave you without help. Let Him cultivate in you the same steadfastness that was in Jesus — a courage anchored in the certainty of the Father’s presence.

Prayer Moment
Father, strengthen us in every place where we feel challenged or weary. Set our faces like flint, steady and courageous, as we walk out Your will. Thank You for Your promise to help us, uphold us, and never forsake us. Anchor our confidence in Your presence. Amen.
