Set the Record Straight

Scripture

"But you are my witnesses, O Israel!" says the Lord. "You are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I am God. There is no other God-there never has been, and there never will be." -Israel 43:10

In an age of modern idolatry, where self‑image, technology, and wealth are subtly exalted, humanity has traded the Creator for the very things He created. There's been a covert but steady shift of focus from a faith centered life to a self-centered life placing self as the director of destiny. A clear and public shift has emerged, embracing the worship of other gods—yet this movement rests not on God’s authority, but on human validation. This is an era in which cultural and religious permissiveness prevails, and the maxim ‘to thine own self be true’ is openly celebrated. However, there is only one God-before whom no other god was formed and after whom none shall exist. Selah.

Reflection Pause: In what ways might your heart be drifting toward the very idols this age celebrates?

As servants of the Most High God, we are called to bear witness to His unmatched nature, power, and authority. Our lives are meant to testify to His exclusive sovereignty and the salvation found only in Jesus Christ. Like Israel, we have been chosen to know Him, to believe Him, and to understand that He alone is God. In a culture saturated with modern idolatry, we are commissioned to stand firm against anything that seeks to draw humanity’s allegiance away from Him. Believers must make it unmistakably clear that God is not merely superior among many—He is the only true God, and we unapologetically reject the notion of rival deities. Our mission remains the same as that given to the early disciples: “You will be My witnesses… to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). Beloved, we must set the record straight.

Reflection Pause: In what ways might cultural pressures be tempting you to soften or silence your testimony?

Beloved, your testimony of the one true God flows from the countless ways He has revealed Himself in your life. The Lord has saved you, healed you, delivered you, and displayed His power on your behalf. He has poured out undeserved goodness and mercy in your darkest hours. He has restored what was broken and sustained you through every trial. Your witness is anchored in your lived encounters with His nature and character, making you a powerful testimony to the world. Set the record straight.

God, silence every voice that tempts me to soften my witness. Fill me with holy boldness to declare that You alone are God.
