Embrace The Call

Scripture

You didn't choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatsoever you ask for, using my name. -John 15:16

You are not who you are by accident. Every part of your design — your personality, your strengths, your way of thinking — was intentionally placed in you by the Lord for the good works He prepared in advance for you to walk in. Your entire being was crafted by Jesus with purpose, which is why He told His disciples that He chose them long before they ever chose Him. We did not select Him — He selected us. And He chose us so that our lives would bear spiritual fruit, the very outcome He intends for everyone who belongs to Him. We weren’t chosen to pursue our own agendas, but to participate in His. Those who come into the truth begin to understand that we were chosen for active kingdom advancement on the earth. When Jesus declared, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 3:2), He was extending an invitation — an invitation into God’s present and future reign of justice, peace, and redeeming love. It was a call to believe the gospel and step into a new way of living under His rule. This is the same invitation we extend to the world today: to call people into the fellowship of God’s love, into the beauty of discipleship, and into the life‑changing reality of His kingdom.

Reflection Pause: Take a moment to sit with this truth: If Jesus intentionally designed you and intentionally chose you, what does that reveal about your worth, your purpose, and the way He sees your life?

You were created for a life that is fruitful and meaningful, a life rooted in an abiding relationship with Christ. Beloved, embrace the call that rests on your life. While every believer is called to bear spiritual fruit — and the core of that calling is the same — the way it unfolds will not look identical for each of us. Our fruit manifests differently because God has shaped each of us with unique gifts, different seasons, and personal assignments in His kingdom. This “fruit” includes both the inner work of the Spirit — qualities like love, joy, peace, and patience — and the outward expression of the Gospel through service, compassion, and witness. The Holy Spirit distributes gifts as He wills, which means the lasting fruit of every believer is beautifully personalized. For some, fruit looks like a visible, evangelistic ministry that reaches many. For others, it looks like the quiet faithfulness of everyday life — raising a family, serving in a local ministry, encouraging a coworker, or helping a neighbor in need. Whatever He has appointed you to, embrace it. Your fruitfulness is not measured by comparison, but by obedience to the calling God has placed on your life.

Reflection Pause: Take a moment to consider: What unique fruit is God growing in your life right now?

As we abide in Christ, our lives naturally begin to align with God’s purposes. Abiding shapes our desires, redirects our priorities, and teaches us to pursue what pleases Him. And as our hearts come into alignment with His, we position ourselves to receive what we ask in Jesus’ name — not because we’ve earned it, but because we now desire what He desires. Our prayers become an extension of His will, and therefore, they are answered. This promise is given to those who are bearing spiritual fruit — those whose lives reflect the work of the Spirit within them. So, Beloved, embrace the call on your life today. The fruit you are producing is lasting, meaningful, and rooted in the unshakable foundation of God’s kingdom.

Journal Reflection: What part of my God‑given design do I need to honor more deeply?

Prayer Moment

Father, thank You for designing me with intention, purpose, and love. Jesus, thank You for choosing me long before I ever chose You. Holy Spirit, help me abide deeply, bear lasting fruit, and walk faithfully in the calling You’ve placed on my life. Align my desires with Yours, shape my heart, and lead me into the fullness of Your kingdom. I embrace my calling, and I offer my life back to You. Amen.
