Scripture
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. -Matthew 4:4
True life is sustained by spiritual nourishment, and that nourishment is found in God’s Word. In every situation, the question we should ask ourselves is, “What does God say about this?” When we seek Him about what we’re facing, we stop striving to figure things out in our own strength. The scripture above points us toward a deep dependence on divine wisdom rather than merely human understanding. Proverbs 3:5 reminds us to trust the Lord with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding. And as verse 6 assures us, when we invite Him into every area of our lives and trust His wisdom over our own, He will direct our paths.
It is essential that we prioritize God’s divine guidance in every part of our lives. True wisdom comes from placing His will above our own, and His will is revealed through His Word. When we seek Him, the Holy Spirit will often illuminate a specific scripture that speaks directly to our situation. That Word brings life, truth, wisdom, and instruction. Trust this process, Beloved. Instead of letting circumstances stir up anxiety, turn to Him first. Practice seeking God before anything else until it becomes your natural response. When we do this, we begin living under His divine counsel rather than our own limited understanding.
Beloved, let us feast on the wisdom of God. His Word gives us the guidance we need for everyday decisions. Whatever you’re facing today, lean on His divine counsel to lead you. Be intentional about asking, “Father, what do You say about this?” His Spirit will supply the wisdom and instruction you need. This journey requires trust — and a willingness to lay aside our own understanding so His wisdom can prevail.
Prayer
