Scripture
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. -Ephesians 2:6
Beloved, as a Christian, this is your present reality. Your spiritual position in Christ is not a future event yet to happen, it is now. You currently share in Jesus' authority and victory over spiritual darkness. Therefore you must operate your life from this place. It's similar to someone who receives a huge promotion in their career. Their position shifts from a regular employee to leader. They now hold authority and when they give direction, their words hold the weight of the CEO or GM. Because their position of authority changed, they can no longer operate on the level as a regular employee because that is no longer who they are. This is true for the believer as well. We are seated in a place of authority with Jesus, therefore we are to operate and see from that perspective.
Being seated in heavenly places looks like operating from a place of peace and not anxiety and worry when challenges arise. It means that we are no longer limited by worldly limitations because greater is He that is within us than he that is in the world. It means that we have security in grace. We are secure in our relationship with God as His children. It means that sin no longer has control over us, therefore we are not obligated to yield to our flesh. It means, like the leader in the example, we have the full authority and backing of heaven when we decree a thing, prophesy, or when we pray. It means that we are not fighting in our strength, but in His.
It requires that we SEE from a different perspective. Seeing from heavenly places means that we view life through heaven's perspective rather than our limited earthly perspective. We see our position above the world's fears and dark forces rather than being affected by them. It's the realization that we have access to spiritual resources, wisdom, and blessings that inhabit the spiritual realm. It's seeing life from high up-above challenges, troubles, trials, sickness, and strife. We're laying aside those weights and sins that easily entangles us and running with endurance. (Hebrews 12:1). How we 'see' is very important to how we operate in the spirit, which informs the natural. So, look at it like this, from your seat in the heavenly realm, you walk in authority, you've already overcome, and you're secure through His grace and mercy. You are a joint heir with Christ, which means you have heaven's backing. You are no ordinary person!
Prayer
Father, we thank you for our spiritual position in Christ. Please help us to walk in the full revelation of this truth as we live out our lives for your purpose. In Jesus' name. Amen
