Scripture
"Always remember what you have been taught, and don't let go of it. Keep all that you have learned; it is the most important thing in life" -Proverbs 4:13
It is the parents' prayer that their children will remember what they've been taught. It doesn't matter the stage of life their children are in, school-aged or young adulthood; the hope is for children to remember the lessons learned. Our Father in heaven desires the same for His children. He is intentional about teaching us how to live as citizens of His kingdom once we're adopted into His family through salvation. Just like our children, we learn through experiences and encounters in life, and there will always be opportunities to remember and apply what's been taught.
I've heard it said that the Bible is replete with answers to all things we face as humanity. Through His Word, He will equip us with knowledge and wisdom for a fulfilling life. It provides spiritual protection as a shield against temptation, and it keeps us stable through trials. We're taught about God's faithfulness in all situations. During difficult seasons, we must remember His promises, for they provide strength and courage. We must actively seize, hold fast to, and diligently protect biblical instruction and wisdom. Be intentional about meditating on what God has taught you, Beloved. It's a persistent effort on our part. God's wisdom and knowledge are to be protected from worldly influences because when circumstances arise, we must remember and apply what we've learned.
Beloved, who and what we place our faith in will be called into question at different stages in our lives. You may never contend with someone who outright challenges you as some do, but the trials you face will. You must remember who you are and what He's taught through His Spirit. Hide His truths and promises in your heart to ensure that they are available to guide and encourage you in the day of trouble. This is most crucial to secure a meaningful life.
Prayer
Father, we seek to take hold fast of Your instruction and wisdom. We ask for a heart that does not let go of the truth, but rather treasures and guards it, acknowledging that Your word is our life. Amen
