Precious Reminder

Scripture

"...to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved," - Ephesians 1:6

Some believers struggle with feeling accepted. We feel we're not accepted by others, ourselves, or even the Lord. Struggling with feeling accepted often stems from fear of judgment and negative experiences with those around us. It causes low self-worth and inauthentic connections with people who genuinely have our best interest at heart. Though the struggle with acceptance is common, the Bible teaches us that we are fully accepted by God. It's a gift based on the work of Christ. We are fully accepted by God through our union with Jesus Christ. Jesus is the "Beloved Son", which means He is the supreme object of His Father's love. Because we are in union with Jesus, we too become the object of the Father's love.

We never have to live as if we're on the outside looking in anymore because the Father loves and accepts us. Take the pressure off because there is nothing that we could have ever done through our works to receive this kind of acceptance. It's because of Jesus Christ that we are loved so fully and wholly by God. Let this be a precious reminder when we feel the need to perform to gain acceptance and approval from others.

Beloved, one of the many blessings that accompany our union with Christ is unmerited favor from God. It's magnificent and worthy of our praise. So, whatever you endeavor to do within His will, know that His favor goes with you. Even if man says, no, God's favor says yes. Accept that you have been chosen by God for His own purpose. Accept that you have been adopted into God's family and have been given legal rights as His child. Accept that you've been redeemed from your old life through Christ's sacrifice. You are fully accepted and wholly loved by the Lord. Let this truth guide on this Christian journey.

Prayer

Father, thank you for loving us so completely and wholly. We let go the feelings of not being accepted because we are fully accepted by you through Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father! Amen
