Are You Hidden?

Scripture

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe" -Proverbs 18:10. "For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God" -Colossians 3:3

When God is doing something beautiful in your life, the enemy will often attempt to distort it. He'll try to turn surrender into insecurity and fear. He'll attempt to turn correction into condemnation. We must be able to discern the difference. It is important to remember that God's hand is on your life and He's moving you into purpose. Let this be your anchor, no matter what comes at you. The adversary will always come to shake our security in who we are and what God is doing in our lives.  Let's adhere to what the scriptures above are saying to us. They tell us that our spiritual refuge is found in Christ. In Him only do we discover complete security. There was a time when the enemy came against me and caused me to question my spiritual security and knowledge. However, the Holy Spirit stepped in and sent me to the scriptures.  First, He sent me to Proverbs 18:10, reminding me that God's name, which is characterized by His nature and attributes, acts as a fortress for me. His presence in my life is a defense against the enemy's tactics to play with my mind. The Holy Spirit then sent me to Colossians 3:3, where He showed me that I have no reason to be insecure about my place in Him because I have a new life in Him. This life of mine is kept safe and protected by Jesus as we are united as one. Because this is the truth, my life is beyond the reach of spiritual insecurity and condemnation.

Beloved, I praise the Lord for guiding me to these scriptures! Proverbs 18:10 shows God as a safe, fortress-like refuge, while Colossians 3:3 provides the New Testament fulfillment, showing that the 'strong tower' is actually a position in Christ. So in essence, Colossians 3:3 elevates Proverbs 18:10. We are now hidden in Christ and concealed from the enemy's tactics. This is a more intimate form of security rather than a physical strong tower. Both scriptures promise our safety amid danger, though not always physical. Proverbs 18:10 is a promise of protection during trials or spiritual attacks. Colossians 3:3 promises that because a believer's true life is secure with God, they do not need to be controlled by fear or sinful, earthly ideas.

Just know, Beloved, that we are protected because of our position in Him. The enemy will always come to distort God's reality in our lives, but we must be vigilant and discerning. Remember the promises from these precious verses as you face trials and overcome spiritual attacks. You are hidden.

Prayer

Father, thank you for being our refuge in times of trouble. We are grateful for your presence in our lives because in times of spiritual attack, we are hidden in Christ. Amen
