Divine Faith

Scripture

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.- Hebrew 11:6

Beloved, I'm sure you will agree that we have been admonished to have faith, live by faith, and walk by faith. We're quoted the faith scriptures such as the one above and Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, conviction of things unseen." So, let me ask you, how can we have faith that God will work all things for our good if we have wavering faith in who He is?  We must first believe He is who the scriptures say He is. Some only focus on what He can do for them, but never focus on the God behind the breakthrough.

It is important to understand that we don't just receive salvation so we won't face eternal damnation. Jesus sacrificed His life so that we could be reconciled to the Father. Adam's sin separated us from Him, but salvation brought us back to His heart. It's not about simply acknowledging Him; it's about a relationship. Through each loving encounter with the Lord, the scripture above becomes more tangible in your life. A relationship with God leads to experiencing Him. Remember when David said, "Taste and see that the Lord is good"? (Psalm 34:8) This can only be done by experiencing Him through a relationship. Trust is vital for the success of any human relationship. People build trust through consistency over time. God's love and care are unchanging, unfailing, and unending. You will transition from mere acknowledgement to experience as you cultivate a relationship with Him over the course of time, Beloved. This is when your focus will shift from what He can do to who He's proven to be to you.

Divine faith grows through intimacy with the Lord. It fosters hope, purpose and meaning in our lives. It becomes an anchor in hard times, allowing us to endure suffering and trials. It sustains us as we live as disciples, holding us steady as we learn to live this Kingdom life. Beloved, let us put our confidence in God, who, through a relationship with Him, will work in us an unshakable divine faith.

Prayer

Father, we put our trust in you today. We put our hope in you, knowing that you are the God of the breakthrough. Amen.
