Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things unseen. -Hebrews 11:1
Many times we pray to the Lord for things, and His response is 'yes'. However, after that, He looks for us to initiate our faith. Perhaps you're waiting on Him to start your business, write a book, or move to a new neighborhood, and nothing has happened. He may be waiting for you to take the initial step in faith while we wait for a clear sign from Him. Beloved, God's guidance may require an active response from us rather than passive waiting.
I've learned that even when the path isn't clear, He will meet me in my initial step. There's a difference between patiently waiting in faith and passivity. God is looking for our obedience. Although the path may not be clear, when we take the first step, He will reveal the next step. Our willingness to activate our faith will cause Him to participate in the situation. When He does reveal the next part of the plan, it is our responsibility to discern what He's done. We must be ready to move when He gives the opportunity. We prepare by praying for discernment and meditating on the scriptures that pertain to our situation. This keeps you in step with the Holy Spirit.
Beloved, whatever you have asked God for, know that He's already answered. It is your job to act in faith and discern His movements. What are you praying for today that you feel God has not responded? It may be your move!
Prayer
Father, we pray that our faith will increase so we can take the initial step into our next. Help us discern the right time to act and your voice for the next part of the plan. In Jesus' name. Amen
