"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" -Isaiah 6:8
God is not seeking our perfection; He's looking for our availability. How available are you to the service of the Lord, Beloved? The Lord is actively seeking willing servants to fulfill His divine commission. The invitation has been sent, but we have to decide to respond with a yes. Your yes to His divine call does not require that you have everything in working order in your life. It doesn't mean you have conquered all of your fears and insecurities. It doesn't mean you are without flaws. It means that you are willing to bring all of these things to Him alongside your yes. Isaiah's fervent yes demonstrated his courage, faith, and submission to God's will.
Will you respond with an enthusiastic yes to God's divine call? Can you tell Him you'll go even if you feel unqualified? The beautiful truth here is that He qualifies those He's called. He just needs willing hearts to participate in His mission. As we surrender to the call, He'll fix all the broken places in our lives. He'll purify our hearts and, through our repentance, He'll clean our hands. Know that your yes to Him is a response to the fellowship you already have with Him. In your surrendered state, He'll qualify you to go out to fulfill His commission. He'll transform you through your relationship with Him before stepping into His service.
So, what is Isaiah's willingness teaching us, Beloved? First, we should have a willingness to serve. Based on your knowledge, devotion, and relationship with Him, there should be an eagerness to be used for God's purpose. Second, surrender is required. Our surrender often means surrendering our own plans and desires to God's will. Third, obedience is of the utmost importance. Availability to God is shown through our obedience to His commands, no matter what that looks like. Finally, an available heart allows Him to empower us to be used for His glory and fulfill His purpose in the earth. Let's make "Here am I! Send me!" the cry of our hearts today.
Prayer
Father, we thank you for your unchanging nature. We offer our lives to you to use for your divine purpose. We present our hearts to you in full obedience and without conditions. In Jesus' name. Amen
