You Lead Them

Scripture

Praise the Lord! I will praise the LORD with my whole heart. In the assembly of the upright in the congregation. -Psalm 111:1

I've considered part of the teaching in our Sunday School lesson that discussed being an example to those around you. As believers, we are, in some way, influencers on those around us. This verse at the beginning of the Psalm is a simple declaration: Praise the Lord. The idea of the declaration is to encourage others to do the same. We don't wait for others to praise the Lord; we are to be the shining example and praise Him for His mighty acts. Our praises to God alone admonish those around us to praise Him with us.

There should be nothing held back in your praise to the Father. Let the people see you praise Him with your whole heart. He cannot accept praise from a divided heart, so give Him everything. If we want others to praise God, we must praise Him first. Take the lead, Beloved. Take the lead in every area of your Christian walk. If we want others to serve God, let them see you serving God first. If we want people to love God, let them see you loving and honoring God first. We must set the example.

Be the example in the congregation and as well as in the small groups. Praising the Lord with others will also encourage you, Beloved. Lead the way in Christian fellowship. When you praise Him, give Him everything you've got. Show others, for as mighty are His works, the more exuberant your praises for Him.

Prayer

Father, we will be the example and set the tone for those around us. We will remember your mighty acts and your wondrous ways and praise you with our whole heart. Make our praise contagious to the believers around us. In Jesus' name. Amen
