Scripture
So then, beloved ones, the flesh has no claims on us at all, and we have no further obligation to live in obedience to it. -Romans 8:12
As Christ's followers, we have been encouraged to pursue Him. We've been told to get to know Him through the scriptures. His message and purpose are written in the Gospels. We discover His nature and our true position in the Kingdom in the Epistles. If we allow the scripture to do what it is intended to do, to teach, rebuke, correct, train in righteousness, and equip for every good work (2 Tim. 3:16), we will discover who we are in the Kingdom of God. God's purpose for our lives will be revealed to us, and through the Word, we'll know how we should conduct ourselves in this life to fulfill His purpose.
Discovering our purpose empowers us with divine transformation. Paul declared that he intended to press towards the mark of the high calling. (Phil. 3:14) This meant he was continuously moving towards spiritual growth and maturity. He was determined to be conformed in the image of Christ. As we submit to the Word of God to transform us into Christ's image, we realize that our flesh has less power over us. The more we look like Christ and exhibit His nature, the more our flesh is weakened. We discover that the flesh has no actual claim on us.
When you realize this, the revelation that you are not obligated to be obedient to your flesh is cemented in your soul. Your spirit was already in agreement with this truth, but through your seeking Christ, your soul was transformed. Once your soul is transformed, your body will follow. Therefore, you begin to make different decisions. The things you used to indulge in and the thought processes you used to have are in the past. You actively pursue righteousness and holiness. You find your true identity in Christ, and you let go of who you used to be for the person God created you to be. Beloved, be reminded today that you are no longer obligated to your flesh. You are being transformed into the image of Christ. Know who you are.
Prayer
Father, thank you for the Word that cleanses, transforms, and corrects us. We desire to be formed into the image of Christ so that we can walk in your purpose for our lives. Amen.

Amen! Lord, correct me where I need correcting. Form me to be who you have called me to be. Who I really am. Thank you Lord.
