Be Encouraged

Scripture

Whenever our hearts make us feel guilty and remind us of our failures, we know that God is much greater and more merciful than our conscience, and he knows everything there is to know about us. -1 John 3:20

There are times on our journey when we are tempted to get discouraged and give up. The enemy of our souls will remind us through our thoughts of how we've fallen short in areas of our lives. We may begin to feel like we don't measure up and are unable to do the things God has called us to do. Has God ever told you to do something, and you haven't gotten around to doing it? Have you made decisions and mistakes that you are not proud of? You've repented, but your thoughts still remind you of how you failed.

Beloved, God is aware of it. He is aware of our mistakes and mishaps. He is acquainted with fear and doubt that the enemy sends to cloud your mind. The beauty of an intimate relationship with the Lord is that while we are getting to know His heart, He already knows our end from our beginning. Because there is nothing He doesn't know about us, He knows in which season overwhelming or condemning thoughts will arrive to make us feel like giving up. Beloved, God knows the very worst about us. He knows what we've overcome and what we still struggle with, yet He still gives us mercy, love, and most of all acceptance.

As we cultivate deep fellowship with the Lord, He cleans us up. He is aware that this process takes time. In His grace, He sees beyond the sin and thoughts of the moment and looks at our heart toward Him. Despite what we're dealing with, He sees our love for Him and hearts that refuse to turn away from Him. Beloved, be encouraged today and know that though the enemy may send doubt and remind you of how you've fallen short, our God sees beyond it all. He has not changed His mind about you.

Prayer

Father, we receive your grace and mercy. Thank you for your relentless love you've showered on us. Because of your love, we are encouraged to continue our journey with confidence and faith today. Amen
