Yielded For Power

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses…” -Acts 1:8

For months now, the Holy Spirit and I have been in a deep conversation about surrender. I kept telling Him I wanted to be fully led by Him — empowered, directed, and saturated with His influence. And in His gentle, masterful way, He showed me that the level of power I desired was directly tied to the level of surrender I offered. He laid it out before me as we fellowshipped: We receive the Holy Spirit in His fullness at salvation. Every believer — whether saved yesterday or thirty years ago — shares in the same union with Him. He that is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him. The difference is not in how much of Him we have… but in how much of us He has.

It is an error to ask for “more of the Holy Spirit.” We already have Him — fully, completely, entirely. Peter said that through His divine power, we have been given everything we need for life and godliness. The question is not whether we have Him. The question is whether we are yielded. One day He said to me, “You want to go deeper? Yield.” Not strive. Not perform. Not chase. Yield. The Holy Spirit explained that empowerment is not about getting closer to Him — it is about Him gaining greater access to us. The same power Jesus walked in is the same power His disciples walked in. And it is the same power available to us. The difference we see in the Body of Christ is surrender. Some believers fully yield to His influence and walk in great power. Others resist His leading and remain spiritually stagnant. Your surrender determines your access to the power already within you.

Beloved, the Holy Spirit is asking you a simple but life‑altering question: Are you available? Are you yielded to His voice? Are you submitted to His influence? Are you willing to let Him lead you into deeper waters? The greater the surrender, the greater the release of the power already present in your life. You do not need “more” of Him — He desires more of you. Yield, and you will walk in the power Jesus promised. Yield, and you will become His witness. Yield, and you will see His strength made manifest in your life.

Prayer Moment

Father, Your Holy Spirit is our guide, comforter, and strength. We acknowledge Your presence within us, and we surrender our will to Your leading. Empower us to live lives pleasing to You — to love as You love and to walk in wisdom and grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
