Evidence of a Growing Life

Scripture

“Continue to walk in Him, being rooted and built up in Him… and overflowing with gratitude.”   - Colossians 2:6–7

Beloved, spiritual growth is not accidental — it is intentional, rooted, and continually built by the Spirit of God. Colossians 2:6–7 reminds us that receiving Christ is only the beginning; we are called to continue in Him, to be rooted, built up, and established in the faith. Growth is meant to be visible, traceable, and transformative. As we mature, our knowledge of Christ shifts from intellectual understanding to experiential encounter — the kind of knowing that changes how we live, speak, respond, and believe. We were never meant to drift through our spiritual lives haphazardly. We are called to live as champions — victorious, faith‑filled, and intentional in our walk with God. Spiritual maturity is not passive; it is cultivated.

I’ve learned over the years to track my growth — not to measure perfection, but to recognize God’s faithfulness. When I look back at where He brought me from, my confidence in Him deepens. Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that faith pleases God, and tracking my victories has strengthened that faith. I began journaling the moments He rescued me, corrected me, stretched me, and taught me stamina in prayer. I wrote down the doors He opened and the ones He lovingly closed. I recorded the encounters where He pulled me out of danger or delivered me from relationships that weren’t aligned with His purpose. Even His rebukes became evidence of His love and His commitment to my growth. Over time, I noticed the shift — the authority in my voice, the confidence in my prayers, the love in my interactions. These were my receipts of spiritual formation.

Beloved, the Holy Spirit is inviting you to begin tracking your spiritual progression. Not to compare yourself to others, but to recognize the fingerprints of God on your journey. As you keep in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:25), you will see how He has shaped your character, strengthened your faith, and matured your walk. You will see victories you forgot you won, battles you didn’t realize you overcame, and growth you didn’t know had taken root. And as Scripture promises, you will overflow with gratitude. Gratitude for His guidance, His correction, His protection, and His forming work in your life. Beloved, begin your list. Start your journal. Track your receipts. You will see that God has been building you all along.

Reflection Pause: What victories, breakthroughs, or lessons has the Holy Spirit already walked you through that you need to record as evidence of your growth?

Prayer Moment

Father, thank You for every step of growth. Root us deeper, build us stronger, and keep us in step with Your Spirit. Amen.
