Scripture
So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary. -Hebrews 6:18-19
Beloved, God’s nature is absolute truth. He doesn’t simply speak truth—He is the very standard of truth itself. Because He is the Creator of all things, reality is defined by Him, and this is why your identity must be rooted in who He is. The truth of who you are is not shaped by feelings, circumstances, or opinions—it is shaped by the unchanging God who spoke you into existence. His nature is truth, therefore His Word and His promises cannot change. It is impossible for God to lie. Humanity may shift, break promises, or change direction, but God’s nature does not allow Him to speak anything that will not come to pass. Because of this, you can develop an unshakeable conviction about who God is and what He has spoken over your life.
Reflection Pause :Where have I allowed circumstances to speak louder than God’s unchanging truth? Let the Holy Spirit gently reveal it.
God is not a man that He should lie. He is not human that He should change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through? (Numbers 23:19). Beloved, the answer is no. This is why your convictions about His Word must remain firm. He has proven Himself faithful again and again in your life. His consistency strengthens your confidence. No matter what you face, you can find refuge in Him. His promise and His oath anchor your soul—just as a physical anchor holds a ship steady in a storm. But unlike a physical anchor, hope attaches you directly to the presence of God Himself.
Reflection Pause: What promise from God do I need to anchor myself to today? Sit with that promise. Let it steady you.
God’s unchanging nature gives you a hope that cannot break. If He said it, it will come to pass. No matter what you are facing today, remember His Word and His oath. Because there is no one greater than God, He swore by His own name (Genesis 22:16–17). These two unalterable guarantees make His Word completely reliable. Beloved, it is already done. You have already overcome. You are standing on a promise that cannot fail.
Journaling Moment: What promise has God spoken that I need to hold onto again? How has God proven His faithfulness to me in the past?
Prayer Moment
Father, thank You that Your nature is absolute truth. Thank You that You cannot lie, cannot fail, and cannot change. Anchor my heart in Your promises. Strengthen my conviction in who You are and what You have spoken over my life. Help me to rest in Your unchanging character and to stand firm in hope. Let Your truth steady me, guide me, and shape me. I trust You completely. Amen.
