Scripture
So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God's rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
When we read the book of Psalms, we will notice the word 'Selah' inserted at the end of a song. This is a musical notation to pause and reflect on what has just been sung or read, allowing for meditation on God's truth. The Spirit of God is calling us to pause from our work and reflet. There comes a time when He calls for a strategic step back in our lives so that through Him, we can receive deeper insight, improve our decision-making, and intentionally adapt our goals. This Selah is an intentional pause that helps break the cycle of busyness in our lives. It also enables us to evaluate the progress we've made in different areas of life and if need be, re-center on our God-given purpose. Pausing to reflect and ceasing from work should become a part of the rhythm of our lives. God modeled this kind of rest after creation, not out of tiredness, but to enjoy His works. Do you stop, reflect, and then enjoy what you've created?
This kind of pause is strategic. It's not about mere resting, but a time when you examine your current path. Is it aligning with God's plan for your life? Does your current path align with the goals you set for your life? Were they developed through the counsel and wisdom of God? Your Selah moment allows you to gain mental clarity to avoid excessive striving and regain perspective in the stillness. This is time to reflect on God's faithfulness and His present work in your life. It's a deliberate pause to seek God help to you identify which actions truly move you forward in life and ones that simply keep you mindlessly busy. It's a time of spiritual and personal alignment to gain God's perspective on your journey.
Beloved, take a Selah moment today. Just like musical pause in Psalms, take a deliberate pause and reflect every aspect of your life. Allow God to navigate this space for you and gain His perspective. If you ever need to readjust your strategies, do so accordingly. Pattern this rhythm of grace after God and incorporate as often as you can. Taking this time is a deliberate, proactive choice, essential for sustained growth and well-being.
