The Courage to Do

Scripture

What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. -James 2:14;17

Not only is the Lord majestic, magnanimous, and sovereign, He's also practical. He knows how to meet us where we are in our lives and give us revelation on how to prosper and move forward. For the most part, many believers have dreams and goals, and they are believing God for them to manifest. Beloved, what if God is saying, "Your faith is useless if you do nothing to work towards your dream and goals? What if He has given you the next steps, but He's waiting on you to put them into action? You've done all that you need to align your faith with Him, but haven't done much to put your faith into action. There comes a time when we cease praying about it or trying to discern it and walk into it. We don't need any more words of knowledge or prophecies. What we need now is to put our faith into action with our deeds. He'll only equip us, but He won't do it for us.

Beloved, He's revealed the plan; now work it out. Jesus told Peter, “But so that we may not offend, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth, and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours." (Matthew 17:27). Let's be inspired by this scripture, knowing that the divine provision has already been given. We won't realize it until we start doing the work. Peter had to catch the fish and open its mouth. It isn't enough to know that one day you'll write books; begin writing today. Okay, so the Holy Spirit revealed to you that you are going to school for a career change or to advance in your career. Have you researched schools that fit your chosen career path? He's told someone that a financial increase is their portion. Have you learned how to manage your resources effectively? What good is it to have financial gain, but no financial literacy? The point is, we are in a season of work. Our hands must be coordinated with our vision. In other words, our actions must match the vision that is set in our hearts.

I asked the Lord what I should be doing in this season of my life in accordance with what He's spoken over me. He gave me a list of things that I was NOT doing that I should be doing. Hmm..... The Holy Spirit has given many of us clear instructions in this season, and it's time for us to put our faith into action. I speak the courage over you.  Beloved, today is the day that you move into your next!

Prayer

Father, with your grace, we put action to our faith and walk in the promise you've spoken over our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen
