Scripture
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden." -Matthew 5:14
Christians are meant to stand out. We are meant to be a light shining bright in this dark world. Jesus did not say that we were to become the light, as in we have to work towards it. He said we are the light. For Christ, there was no such thing as a secret Christian who never displays the light within them. Jesus wants the people of the Kingdom of God to live visible lives that attract attention to God's work in their lives.
It's all about how our lives are lived, Beloved. From the things we do to the things we say, we should be glorifying the Father. The eyes of the world are upon us. What a tragedy it is for our Christianity to imitate the darkness of the world, for there is nothing to show the world. We can never affect the world we're trying to reach for the Kingdom of God by becoming like the world.
Light is meant to expose what is there. The light that we carry should expose the darkness that is in men of this world. This is why there should be a distinction between the Christian and the man of the world. If we hide our light based on who we are around, we are of no use to God. I love traveling through downtown Atlanta at night. It's hard not to look at the lights of the cityscape. It's simply beautiful. This is how Jesus wants the Christian to live his or her life. He wants our lives to be so visible that the world cannot take its eyes off of us. Beloved, what kind of life are you living? Are you displaying the light of Jesus Christ for all the world to see? Or, is it on a case-by-case basis, based on who you're around?
Prayer
Father, we want to live a life that displays your light in a world full of darkness. We desire to be a living sacrifice for you so that the world can know Jesus through us. We'll be the light that attracts everywhere we go. In Jesus' name. Amen

I love this message. It has me thinking of myself, and am I really being a light in this world every day. I always share God’s word and don’t mind. Praying for people on the drop of a dime, but I do have my personality that is funny, silly, Corky and quirky. I am myself everywhere I go. I don’t know how to be fake. So people see the good the bad and the ugly with me as I’m growing on this journey. But again, I will share the Word of God. How do I not confuse people with my silly sometimes serious personality one minute and then ministering to them the next?
