God Wants You to Win!

Scripture

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your souls prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. -3 John 1:2-4

Our God has no interest in our downfall. His desire is for us to win in every area of life. What I've observed is that as I Iive in constant fellowship with Him, He addresses every area of my life. What this means is that while He is concerned with me cultivating our relationship, He is also very concerned about my health, emotional well-being, and my prosperity. When I yield these aspects to Him, He counsels me on how to manage them. I believe that most Christians only see the Lord in a few dimensions. They either see Him as one who can bring blessings and deliverance, or they see Him as one who is concerned with all things spiritual. Some may believe He's mainly concerned with their spiritual works, such as tithing, fasting, prayer, and serving the community.

There is truth here, but God knows that there is a very human and practical side to His children. This side does not exist independently of Him. His Holy Spirit assists us in these areas so that we can shine and bring glory to His Kingdom. In addition to our spiritual walk, there is a side of the believer who loves creativity, entrepreneurship, educating others, leadership outside of the church, and many other arenas. When John used the word 'prosper', the word meant to have a good journey. He was hoping that things would go well for his readers. Were they not children of the Most High God? This is God's heart for us today.

Beloved, remember that God wants our best and plans only good things for us. He wants the condition of our souls and the condition of our lives to prosper simultaneously. In the scripture, John experienced great joy to hear that the children of God were walking in the truth. What does that look like for us today? It means we consistently live out what we believe. If you believe that you are prosperous, then walk like you are prosperous. If you believe you are in good health, then walk like you're in good health. If you believe you are a leader, then walk like you're a leader. If you believe you are forgiven, then walk like you are forgiven. With God's guidance, grace, and counsel, there isn't one thing we can't accomplish. The journey may not always be easy, but just as He encouraged Joshua, we too are to be strong and courageous. Walk in the truth, Beloved.

Prayer

Thank you for the many blessings and successes in all aspects of our lives. We pray that there be continuous growth and success in our relationships, finances, and careers. We pray for healed bodies and nurtured souls. Thank you for your love, faithfulness, and promises of prosperity. In Jesus' name. Amen
